In late 1992 the station was licensed as a community radio station for Parramatta, Holroyd and The Hills, in western Sydney, Australia, and began broadcasting from studios in Baulkham Hills. The station adopted the major format of smooth jazz music which was heard through the day and overnight. It was widely known as "The Sound of Style". Other programs filled the remaining hours. Successive Boards of management, under the chairmanship of Graham Johnson adopted this format until 2006 when Graham and other Board members stood down.
This site has been created to focus on the smooth jazz played on this station. The smoothest jazz. If you don't like your music sounding like an ADT security alarm or an electric drill, you'll love the silky smooth sounds of SmoothJazz905. Tune in the next time you get a chance and you'll understand exactly what we mean. Check back on this site for more information on the music played.
